Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to ease the management of content for the Daniadown website. This overview is meant to be a reference guide to assist you in editing the more complex content areas.

Layout Summary

  1. Header
    1. Show Hide Ad SiteCM show/hide content block
    2. CUSTOMER SERVICE LRM Controlled text - lblCustomerServicePhone - editable through the languages manager
    3. Social Buttons hardcoded for facebook like and twitter follow
    4. Top Menu - custom currency menu, linked in SiteCM.

  3. Home Page Breakdown - Ad Sizes & Other Info.

    All Site Ads also need images uploaded to the Image Manager. The name of each Site Ad reflects the Category within the Image Manager. To add new site ads you need to first upload the Image into the proper category.

    You need to upload the correct image size for the Ad to properly display.

    * Note * within the Ad Manager the Height is Displayed before the Width. In this document the Width is displayed before the height.

    1. Content Rotator - "Home Ads > Rotator"
      Recommended Use - Only 1 - 2 Hero image / marketing messages here at a time.
      Background Image: 1300px x 600px
      Recommended file size: keep images below 150 kilobytes in file size.

    2. Feature Block 1 - "1 - Left Top"
      Content Blocks - "Home Ads"

      Click the image and replace image to change the background. Type to replace the text. The default headings listed are an h6 followed by an h5, followed by a hyperlink custom class "reversed-button".

    3. Feature Block 2 - "2 - Left Bottom"
      Content Blocks - "Home Ads"

      Type to replace the text. The default headings listed are an h6 followed by an h5, followed by a hyperlink custom class "reversed-button". The background color is not editable. New background colours available by request as needed for charge.

    4. Feature Block 3 - "3 - Middle"
      Content Blocks - "Home Ads"

      Click the image and replace image to change the background. Type to replace the text. The default headings listed are an h6 followed by an h5, followed by a hyperlink custom class "reversed-button".

    5. Feature Block 4 - "4 - Right Top"
      Content Blocks - "Home Ads"

      Click the image and replace image to change the background. Type to replace the text. The default headings listed are an h6 followed by an h5, followed by a hyperlink custom class "reversed-button".

    6. Feature Block 5 - "5 - Right Bottom"
      Content Blocks - "Home Ads"

      Type to replace the text. The default headings listed are an h6 followed by an h5, followed by a hyperlink custom class "reversed-button". The background color is not editable. New background colours available by request as needed for charge.

    7. Product Carousel - Intended to list featured products on the home page. List of departments (as tabs) in CommerceCM under the "Featured Products (homepage)" department.

    8. SiteAd - "Wide Banner SiteAds"
      There are 3 variants for this spot for the SiteAd to be responsive and still legible: (Applies to Home, Department, and product)
      1. Desktop Banner: 995 x 68
      2. Tablet Banner: 690 x 130
      3. Mobile Banner: 232 x 300

    9. Popular Categoreis - Content Block - Content Blocks > "Home Ads" > "Popular Categories" images are SiteCM managed.

    10. Home Page Content Area - Editable within the Standard Content Section of the SiteCM page title "Home Page" in the SiteCM Content Manager.

  4. Department with SubDepartments
    1. Department Name - editable through the department manager

    2. Department Description - be aware of length here as there is limited space.

    3. Department Image - 226px x 226px

    4. Site Ad - "DepartmentTop"
      Image Category - "TopBanner" - 161px x 77px

    5. Department Image *Optional* - 1048 x 168px (Variant)
      this is a variant and must be uploaded separately from the other images

    6. Site Ad - "DepartmentBottom" (Optional)
      Image Category - "TopBanner" - 161px x 77px

  5. Department with Products
    1. Department Name - editable through the department manager

    2. Department Description Managed through the department editor

    3. Product Listing - displays all products inside this main department
    4. Site Ad - "1 Dept Left"
      Manage through the SiteAd Manager: Marketing > SiteAds

      Image Category: "1 Dept Left", upload at 232px x 300px

      !! NOTE:This ad spot is reserved for a Custom Ad ID if desired which was be put in the Custom Field "Site Ad ID" in the department Edit Manager.

      To find the Ad ID, proceed to the Marketing > Ad Manager > Expand the list of the "1 Dept left" Ad category, hover over the ad desired. While your cursor is resting over the Ad name, you will see an address appear in the bottom left of your browser window, the last numerical value following "&AdID=" of this string will be the Site Ad ID to copy.


    5. Site Ad - "SubDeptBottom" (Optional)
      Manage through the SiteAd Manager: Marketing > SiteAds
      Image Category: "1 Dept Left", upload at 232px x 300px

    6. Sale Flag - Is an LRM: lblProduct_Sale_Text
    7. New Flag - Is an LRM: lblProduct_New_Text

    NOTE:
    Within the Ad Manager the Height is Displayed before the Width.
    In this document the Width is displayed before the height.

    Auto Sale Department - has same display as this page

  6. Product Pages

    1. Product Image
      Upload at 1024px x 1024px for zoom

    2. Related Images
      Thumbnail size: 38px x 38px
      Images must be uploaded to product relations in the Store > Catalog > Products > Product editor

    3. Show Hide Description
      displays the first 100 or so characters of the product short description

    4. Size Chart
      When clicked, directs the shopper to the "Dimensions" tabbed prodict description content if available, otherwise displays the content under "overview".

    5. Swatches and Colour Selection
      This will only display if swatch images have been defined in the product attribute values manager.

    6. Product Availability Displays prodict availability by store location.
      Content Block that appears in the popup for Definitions Located in Content > Assets > Content Blocks > "(0) Store Inventory Definitions"

  7. SiteCM Content Page

Quick Reference - Image Sizes

The product image zoom size is 1024px by 1024px.

This is the largest image you need to upload to the site when creating a new product. You are able to upload larger images of the same proportion but if you want to ensure there is no image quality loss, the closer to the 1024px by 1024px the better. The CommerceCM system will resize the images as required for the smaller images on the site.
