If you love soft fluffy laundry but don't want to expose your family to harsh chemicals, Pure Wool Tumblers are the perfect solution.
Tumblers work by lifting and separating laundry, increasing the flow of air as they gently tumble around your dryer
- Save energy - cuts drying time by 20 to 30%
- Soften clothes and reduce wrinkles
- Easier and faster ironing
- 1000+ loads
- Natural wool colours
Tumblers are
handmade in Canada from imported South American wool roving and then felted to ensure they will not leave fluff on your laundry.
Where are your wool balls made?
We hand make our wool balls in Norfolk County in ON Canada using imported Merino and Corriedale wool. While we
would love to use Canadian wool the wool fibre is not fine enough to felt properly and is better suited for wool batting.
Our felting process ensures the wool fibres do not come o on the clothes.
What is the difference with the colors?
We make balls in 3 colours using the natural colour wool of the sheep – our wool is never dyed. While some people
prefer the brown balls with dark fabrics, all 3 colours are fine with any colour fabric. Our white balls tend to be a little
softer as the merino wool is a slightly finer fiber than the grey and brown wools which are from Corriedale wool.
Where do you source the wool from?
We use to source our wool from New Zealand until we found out that their wool is sent to China to be processed. We
now work with Wool Cooperatives in South America, Spain & Portugal (depending on the colour) where all the
processing of the wool is local and environmentally responsible, meaning our wool has a minimal carbon footprint. We are
careful to only source wool from farms that never practice mulesing (a cruel process used in warm climates). Most
importantly, the sheep live free-range and are never exposed to chemicals including sheep dips.
How do you process your wool?
Our wool supplier practices low impact, environment friendly processing of the wool fleece into roving. Collected rain
water from a natural reservoir is used for washing and waste water is treated naturally in holding ponds. In Canada we
use a pH balanced fabric wash (Forever New) to help during the felting process and remove any residual lanolin from
the wool.l.
